Precautions for using vacuum sintering furnace

03-20-2025       Author: KJ technology

When using a vacuum sintering furnace, the following precautions should be taken to ensure safe operation, normal equipment operation, and product quality:

1. Preparation before operation

Equipment inspection:

Thoroughly inspect all components of the vacuum sintering furnace to ensure that they are intact, electrical circuits are safe and reliable, and the vacuum system is leak free.

Check if all components and accessories inside the control cabinet are complete and in good condition. The control cabinet should be securely installed on the predetermined foundation.

Check if the cooling water source for the intermediate frequency power supply, vacuum furnace body, and induction coil is sufficient, and there should be no impurities in the water.

Check the power system of the vacuum pump, the tightness of the pulley belt, the oil level of the vacuum pump, etc., to ensure that the vacuum pump is running normally.

Environmental preparation:

Ensure that the operating environment meets vacuum hygiene requirements, the surrounding air is clean and dry, and has good ventilation conditions.

Remove dust and debris from the workplace to maintain a clean environment.

Personnel preparation:

Operators must undergo professional training and be familiar with the working principles, operating procedures, and emergency response measures of vacuum sintering furnaces.

Operators should wear protective equipment such as protective clothing, gloves, and goggles to prevent injuries from high temperatures, radiation, and other sources.

2. Operation process

Standardized operation:

Strictly follow the equipment operating procedures for operation, and do not arbitrarily change operating parameters or programs.

For unfamiliar equipment or operations, they should be carried out under the guidance of professional personnel.

Temperature control:

Pay close attention to the temperature changes inside the furnace to prevent overheating.

If abnormal temperature is found, immediate cooling measures should be taken and the equipment should be checked for any malfunctions.

Vacuum control:

Before starting the vacuum pump, ensure that the vacuum pump and related equipment are connected properly and that the vacuum pipeline is leak free.

Real time monitoring of changes in vacuum degree to ensure that the sintering process is carried out in the required vacuum environment.

Gas usage:

If it is necessary to introduce an atmosphere (such as nitrogen, hydrogen, etc.) under vacuum conditions, the gas supply system should be ensured to operate normally.

Strictly adjust the gas flow according to the operating procedures to avoid gas leakage or excess.

Security monitoring:

During the operation of the equipment, one should remain vigilant and observe the running status of the equipment and changes in the indicator lights at any time.

Do not touch the movable parts of the device while it is running to prevent accidents.

3. Post operation processing

Equipment shutdown:

After sintering is completed, stop the operation of the equipment according to the operating procedures, turn off the power and vacuum pump.

After the equipment cools down, clean the residue in the furnace and vacuum system.

Maintenance and upkeep:

Regularly maintain the vacuum sintering furnace, including checking electrical components, replacing vulnerable parts, cleaning the cooling system, etc.

Regularly conduct skill assessments and safety knowledge training for operators to improve their operational skills and safety awareness.

4. Emergency response

Power outage handling:

In the event of a power outage, the power switch of the vacuum sintering furnace should be immediately turned off, and corresponding measures should be taken to ensure the safety of the materials inside the furnace.

After the power is restored, restart the equipment according to the operating procedures.

Leakage handling:

If a vacuum system leak occurs, relevant valves and power switches should be immediately closed, and emergency ventilation equipment should be activated to reduce the concentration of leaked gas.

At the same time, the cause of the leak should be quickly identified and repaired.

Fire handling:

In the event of a fire, the power should be immediately cut off and the fire extinguishing equipment should be activated to extinguish the fire.

If the fire cannot be controlled, immediately call the police and evacuate personnel.

5. Other precautions

Mold usage:

If using molds for sintering, it is necessary to ensure that the mold material is pressure resistant and high-temperature resistant, and to calculate the amount of pressure applied to avoid damage to the mold.

Material preparation:

Before loading the furnace, it should be ensured that the sintered material is free of oil and moisture, and the furnace should be loaded according to the prescribed method.

Record and report:

Record key data during equipment operation, such as temperature, pressure, vacuum degree, gas flow rate, etc.

If a safety accident or equipment failure occurs, it should be reported to relevant departments in a timely manner, and accident records and investigations should be made.

By following and implementing the above precautions, the safe and stable operation of the vacuum sintering furnace can be ensured, and product quality and production efficiency can be improved.
